Dragon Nest KR had unveiled its new fifth basic class last August 4 - the Academic. This new class is said to be inspired by cartoon and movies while her weapon and skills are from the Defence of the Ancients hero Kardel Sharpeye. Furthermore, this class is a long-ranged attacker with various special gadgets that she can summon to efficiently do well in combat.
One of the reasons behind the Academic's innovation is to attract new players who have yet to play Dragon Nest and designing the said class' purpose is to be easily controlled by newbies as stated by the developer.

This class is also given an advancement that of the Engineer and according to the latest patch, this advancement of the Academic utilizes various military weapons and skills which are effective against a mob of monsters. Alongside the Engineer is his ability to summon a pet that will aid in long-range combat which you can also control to use certain skills.
His main skills are outlined after the jump:
- Demolition: Transform her own cannon into a giant cannon, and left click to fire. Right click to revert to normal weapon.
- Sky Line: Shoot signal flare, which will explodes and summons many mechaducks.
- Alfredo Whilrwind: Command Alfredo to attack the enemies around himself.
- Ice Pump Tower: Summon a tower which will shoot a fixed amount of ice arrows to enemies around. Ice arrow will slow targets' movement.
- Rocket Jump: Aim her cannon on the floor and shoot to jump further.
