Level 32 to 40 Leveling Guide

Level 32 to 40 Leveling Guide
by Gradius [ source ]

Effective Usage of ABP
Currently... DN SEA continue the usage of the ABP system instead of FTG... so I'll try my best to post a guide that will suit our system best... if somehow FTG (fingers-crossed...) is implemented together with the Lv40 cap when it's released (or in the future...) I will re-write this guide that is suppose to go with the FTG system...

Where shall I start?
Firstly... for players who arent hardcore to grind to Lv40 in just a few hours...
Follow the storyline and accept all the quests you can get... including the commission board quests... party up with players (I believe there will be tons of parties around during the early days of cap release...) and run Abyss dungeons... pretty simple right...?

Wonderful Theme Park - 500 Goblin Warriors
300 Goblin Warriors is limited to Lv31 and below only... for Lv32+ players... you get to kill 500 of them...! Be sure to do this as early level as possible... because the exp gained per kill will be decreased as you reach higher levels.

Grinding Dungeons / Commission Board Quests

OK hardcore grinders... this part is for YOU...! From Lv32 to Lv34... recommended dungeon runs is Dark Overlord Training Camp...

Once you reach Lv34... Dark Overlord Tower all the way till Lv40 is probably the best way out for you... yes try to get into parties of 4 to ease the workload... (This is just my personal recommendation...)
Alternatively... you can try out some of the dungeons mentioned below that are quite short...
Main point of this is... whatever ways you use to level-up... try to get into parties of 4 to make full use of the ABP... it will definitely aid you in levelling.

Introduction to Level 32 - 40 Dungeons
Hey... if you are sick of looking at Dark Overlord Training Camp or Dark Overlord Tower over and over again... try out these dungeons for a refreshing play... some of them have things that you will never encounter before!

Hermalte Port - Ruined Riverbanks Path

Imp Graveyard - Lv32+
A mazy map with lots of switches and portals... (Same as Flooded Downstream Ruins...) - Not Recommended

Ruins of Lost Time - Lv36+
Very interesting map as there is a "Past and Present" version... meaning you have to run it "twice" in a single dungeon run... - Not Recommended

Hermalte Port - Charter Ship

Forsaken Islet Center - Lv32+
This dungeon is just like an advanced version of Forsaken Islet... - Can consider under the same category of Forsaken Islet

Sunken Vessel - Lv34+
This is a dungeon that will require some "luck" to clear it as fast as possible... requires you to find 3 statues within a given time... you will have to re-do finding the statues again if you fail to clear it within the time limit... (I will have this as the prettiest boss encountered so far...) - Quite a short dungeon at this level but that's if you can get the statues fast

Captain Durrant Base - Lv38+
The level of the dungeon says it all... quite a difficult dungeon to clear and has 3 maps before Boss... - Not Recommended

Hermalte Port - Dark Mines Access

Crossroad of Death City - Lv34+
Same as Dark and Collapsed Mines... gather the bombs and blast the doors open... there are 2 Boss in this map though... Abyss Mode has 4 Boss... - Average runs and good exp from 4 Boss

Entrance to the Death City - Lv36+
An easy dungeon all the way till the Boss part where its a bit irritating... - Average runs

Tomb of the Nameless Tyrant - Lv38+
Again... the level says it all... difficult dungeon but can be run easily with full party... quite a short dungeon... (Fire Shadow Scream Boss...!) - Average runs

Foothills of Black Mountain - Lonely Forest Path

Explosive Forest Area - Lv36+
Almost similar map to Dried Marissa Spring... quite a short dungeon... (This Boss will show you his eyeball in the boss cut-scene... creepy...) - Average runs

Ghost Village in Gloomy Forest - Lv38+
Quite an ok dungeon in terms of distance... limited fighting space due to too many objects in the maps... - Average runs

Foothills of Black Mountain - Dark Overlord Gates

Dark Overlord Tower - Lv34+
An average dungeon... a little similar to Dark Overlord Training Camp... lots of mobs too... - Preferred runs to grind in parties of 4

- Dark Lair guide not included until FTG is implemented *to be updated
- Master and Disciple guide not included until the system arrives in DN SEA *to be updated
- Effective FTG usage guide not included until implemented *to be updated

Everything above is what I can gather... personal recommendations... and names are loosely translated by myself... if there is anything that I can add on or any mistakes I have made in here... feel free to post it so I can improve this guide to help everyone in their levelling.

Leveling Tips for St. Haven

attribution: dragonnestblog.com/../levelling-tipsinfo-for-saint-heaven

I am sure many of you will be on a rush to reach level 32 once the Saint Heaven patch is out. Which one of you (new players =D) can resist the temptation of those new skills? So now I am here to give you some tips and information on how you can level fast. Do note that certain part of this post is based on experience in DN TW/CN. Let’s cut the crap and proceed =)
2 things that you can do before the patch is out
  • Leave some side quests completed but don’t talk to the NPC yet. This is provided if you did not clear all the side quests as of now. Once the patch is out, finish all the conversation and gain the initial exp. If the quest exp is negligible, you can just simply ignore it.
  • Same as above but based on Guild Commission Board. Do Raider Ambush Point, Road of No Return, Churn Ruin, DMTI(spider), etc but don’t talk to the Board yet. If you are farming Sanctuary Core for instance, you can just complete the quest repeatedly but if you are going to stop running dungeons. Remember to leave the quest there. This technique is faster because you just have to talk to one NPC and you can complete several quest in one shot.
Now, let’s start with some information on Saint Heaven.

This is the map of Saint Heaven. Once you reach here, you will be able to get the quests available in the map. However, please take note of the area circled in red by me. Both green portals are entrances to a castle. There will be quests for you to collect as well. The north and south portals are exits to go to dungeons, similar to that of Calderock. The right side portal is the one for Wonderful Theme Park.
Assuming you did the 2 methods of what I mentioned earlier, you should already have a rough headstart. After collecting all the quests, you will be required to do the lv 24 dungeons. There will be 2 of them. Normally, people will farm Dark Ore Mountains (one of the lv 24 dungeons) for NPC gifts to the blacksmith to lower repair/enhancement fee.

[Technique 1]
Now you need to try to reach lv26 first. As to whether completing quests or spam dungeons is faster, I don’t know but it wouldn’t take long since it is just 2 levels. The reason for lv26 is because of the requirement to take the commission board quest for the dungeon called Lone Island/Islet.

You will reach here when you exit through the south portal of Saint Heaven. The Lone Island/Islet entrance is at the bottom left of the picture above. This dungeon is just like DMTI, but the higher level version of it.
Reasons why Lone Island/Islet is good
  • The map doesnt require you to go through portals like going through 1st stage, 2nd stage, etc. Saves time.
  • Mobs are relatively easy. No skeletons that fall to the ground or ghouls. There are mobs that set traps but they are rather easy to notice and kill. But there are cannons in certain areas. Just finish them off fast and then proceed to the mobs. Or lure the mobs out of the cannon shooting area.
  • Time required to clear is quite fast. Spamming this and completing commission board quests will be good.
In one part of the dungeon, you will see a cave on the right side.

There will be a spider queen inside. If you don’t care about the exp and you want to clear the dungeon asap, you can ignore it and proceed on without affecting the dungeon completion. There will also be another cave after this on the right side as well with a treasure chest and some Man-eater Plants inside. You can clear them for extra exp.

[Technique 2]
If you think killing the goblins are boring in the Wonderful Theme Park, you may change your mind here. Now, they are a great source of exp for you. Each round gives you about 8-11% of your exp bar depending on what level you are. So on 15th Oct (Saturday) when you are able to do the Wonderful Theme Park, DO NOT do the Goblin Village. After level cap is released on 18th Oct (Tuesday), you will be able to make use of it to level up. As to which level to use them, I forgot already. But the optimal % to get each round is 10%-11%. Since you can spam dungeons, these few % will not be significant. If you need a quick boost from lv25 or 26 to do Technique 1, you can make use of this Goblin Village.

[Additional Info]
Another piece of information is a lv30 dungeon called the Dark Overlord’s Drill Ground. This dungeon takes a very long time to complete because the map is big and there are really many mobs inside. This can be your item farming ground due to the large number of mobs inside. Maybe normal agates will drop more in this dungeon?

To reach the entrance of Dark Overlord’s Drill Ground. Simply take the north exit portal of Saint Heaven. And then turn left. Go for the right portal. The left portal is the entrance to the Cerberus Nest. If you solo this dungeon in abyss mode, the final ending exp is 200+k!!! (If I did not remember wrongly. =D But it is definitely alot) Maybe you guys can party up with a total of 4 people to clear faster and complete it on Master/Abyss difficulty. I believe the commission board gives a lot of exp too.

[Technique 3]
If you want to solo this dungeon in abyss difficulty even with lousy gears, you can do so when you reach the lv30 story quests. The NPC Geraint will follow you and help you to attack in the dungeon. Normally, he will kill the mobs in one or two hits. But sometimes you need to attack the monsters to prevent them from attacking Geraint too much because Geraint will be blocking the whole time from the attacks. Do note that Geraint will not die at all. However, sometimes he may get stucked in a few places so you will need to lure the mobs to Geraint or clear some mobs. Here’s a video:

Note: You will see a black portal at 1:14 of the video. It will turn red when the boss dies. Please do not enter if you wish to keep using Geraint to help you. FInishing the quest inside will make you say goodbye to your invincible partner. After exiting from the dungeon before that portal, abandon your story quest. Go back to the NPC and get the same story quest again. Geraint is ready to accompany you again =) Pro equip players please ignore.

Final Tip
If you do Wonderful Theme Park (WTP) in Saint Heaven and if I’m not wrong, the coupon that you get as a reward is different. You will get the coupon with (Saint Heaven) beside the name. You can use Coupon (Saint Heaven) to purchase Coupon (Calderock). This is a 1 to 1 exchange. But not the other way round. So the safest way is to do WTP in Saint Heaven. The reason why you need to change to Calderock version is because maybe you want to buy gifts for certain NPCs which requires Calderock version. Now, you will probably wondering whether to exchange those coupons for level 32 codes or NPC gifts. In my own opinion, in this initial stage, level 32 codes may go to quite a high price due to keen players who want to get good codes on their level 32b equips, not considering those who wish to stay with elf queen/ancient set. So those codes may sell well if you need money. If not, you can just buy gifts for certain NPC benefits or Association points to purchase the respective faction equips that you want.

Leveling Concepts v1.0

Leveling Concepts v1.0 by Trauben

Introduction
Leveling is the concept of gaining experience in order for a charcter to gain access to better stats, skills and equipment.

Experience
Experience is the measure of a characters combat prowess. this can be gained by running dungeons, doing quests, and killing monsters.

Leveling-Up Fast
The best answer that can be derived is from some of the conventional experience tiers used in many MMORPG's

Quest Experience >= Dungeon Runs > Experience From Individual Monsters
(Read as: Quest Experience is greater than or equal to Dungeon Runs and (both are) never lesser than Experience From Individual Monsters )

This means your main source of experience would be coming from quests, Since by doing quests (generally) you are bound to run dungeons, kill monsters, and obtain useful items. In other terms, Quests are gooood.

But, there will come a time that quests will dwindle and you may need to rely on dungeon runs.

Choosing the right difficulty
Dungeons have different difficulties to choose from, they are:

Easy (Pfft.) - This is sometimes used for players to grasp what the map is all about, but IMO normal is more suited for that.
FTG/BP consumed: Minimal
Exp: Low. nuff' said.

Normal (Meh.) - Where most people start. nothing to say much here... it's just... normal. Oh! you need to clear this to unlock Hard difficulty.
FTG/BP consumed: Normal.
Exp: Uhh... it's Average, or Normal, well, either way is fine.

Hard (Wut) - Well... it's hard. more monsters spawn, have increased health, some will have prefixes on their names. you need to clear this to unlock Master difficulty.
FTG/BP consumed: Noticeable amount
Exp: High, but not much of a difference from normal, well, maybe they do, but you'd prefer master than this. or not.

Master (WAT) - Only jedi's can clear this without dying, well maybe not. Noticable increase in monster spawn, more increased health, more monsters with prefixes. you need to clear this to unlock Abyss difficulty.
FTG/BP consumed: Generous amount
Exp: Plenty, running master dungeons several times would net you hefty amounts of exp

Abyss (OH NOES!) - If the scouter says your power level is over 9000, you may proceed alone, else, you'll only be killing yourself. or not. Significantly high increase in monster spawn. lots of health, loads of prefixed monsters
FTG/BP consumed: As high as your taxes.
Exp: Suddenly, Thousands! running abyss dungeons will net you generous amounts of exp

Nest (FFFUUUUUUUUUUUU) - Are different from normal dungeons, They consume no FTG, but i think they consume Blessing Points? I have no data here since, Nest was not enabled during our testing period. Maybe it's like abyss, only much more "abyssier". (inb4 is that even a word?)
FTG/BP consumed: Unknown
Exp: Unknown

That's the big picture, the harder the dungeon is, the better experience you get from it. or is it?

So, you need to run some dungeons in order to get experience, and now the problem is, how difficult?

To give you an idea, here's a story.
Clerics A and B are samefags. That means all their parameters, including level (23 will be used for this scenario), stats, skills, plates and equipment are all the same.

They went to a dungeon to grab some experience. let's say....... Prayer's Resting Place... yeah, that's good.

Cleric A is an impatient fag, so he jumps Abyss difficulty even though both of them have shoddy equipment.

Cleric B is a moral fag, so he goes normal difficulty, knowing that jumping harder dungeons would take a toll on himself

(Note: for this scenario, normal runs give 3k exp per run and abyss dungeons grant 10k exp per run)

1 Hour later...
Cleric A netted himself 30k exp, since he took about 20 mins to clear a run.

Cleric B netted himself 45k exp, since he took about 4 mins to clear a run.

Now, Cleric A raged and swore revenge on B (what? was that a fight?). The next day, Cleric A challenges B. this time, Cleric A nabbed some 1337 (Read As: Elite) equipment, so he's like "Dude i'm achilles man"
Note from here on, they are not samefags anymore, B is now 24 due to his achievement the last day, but his equipment is still shoddy (sad), while A has significantly increased damage, health, armor and stats even though he's still 23. but both of them are still fags.

The place this time is..... well....let's just say.... Prayer's Resting Place... yeah, that's good.

1 hour later....
Cleric A got 60k exp from abyss runs, since he took about 10 mins to clear a run.

Cleric B got 45k exp from normal runs, since he took about 4 mins to clear a run.

After that, Cleric A's like "Dude i'm achilles man", and Cleric B admits defeat. (what a sport)
And now they are friends again. (were they even friends from the start?)
But they are still fags.

Moral of the story? Speed is crucial in dungeon runs, but it's also important to note that, whenever possible, try going for harder difficulty dungeons, as long as you can run it fast enough to net a nice exp per hour rate.

So, what's the breakdown?
Exp in dungeon runs are divided into two groups

Dungoen Clear Exp - the exp you will see when selecting difficulties. note that this value is fixed and is only applied when the dungeon is cleared, hence the name.

Dungeon Run Exp - the exp you will get when running the dungeon. you retain gained experience even if you don't finish the dungeon. this value will come from monsters slain and is the only affected part in the case of an exp event/friend party bonus. this also is the value that gets divided if you're in a party.
