[FAQ] Are you ready for 40 cap?

[FAQ] Are you ready for 40 cap?
[ source ]

Greetings all,

I've received the most votes on my facebook page for releasing a guide to tell you what you need to know/do in order to be ready for 40 cap release. So here it is!
This thread will serve to share with you some of the reasons why I think so as well.
We are only around 6 days away from 40 cap release so you still have quite abit of time to get ready for it.
I'll first share a screenshot of what I've been preparing so far so you get the pictorial idea when I write the guide in words later on.

woah woah woah alot of stuff there right?
Don't worry I also share how I get them instead of just telling you what to get but don't tell you how
wink
Let's start off now shall we.

(Rare) Intermediate Crystal and Revert Codes
If you're going for Lvl40 rare weapons for starters when the lvl40 cap is released (I'll be), then this 2 items is definitely a MUST STOCK UP before the cap release
For critical build SM's like myself you might want to stock up at least 60 Rare Crystals/Revert Cubes (I've 50 crystal and 60 reverts ATM)
This is in mind that we use an average of 25 reverts or more to get the 3 line potentials we require for our builds.

For any other classes going for similar builds, this is a must have because prices of intermediate crystal and revert codes (Rare) will definitely soar when the cap is released, because there will be many unprepared ones

Similarly, if you wish to earn some quick cash from those who go into Lvl40 Rare Weapons, stock up so that you can sell them at decent prices.

Current Prices : As low as 10g each (Average 12-13g)
Predicted Prices at 40 Cap : Back to 17g and above like when 32 cap is first realzed
Method to Stock up on Intermediate Reverts (Rare) : Run DOK or Dried Marissa Spring (Basically the shortest Abyss Dungeon in SH and open the bunny at the end)
Method to Stock up on Intermediate Crystals (Rare) : Do Wonderful Theme Park Boss Rush/Warrior Goblin/ + Others, exchange 10 Coupons for 1 Crystal Code

For the Intermediate Crystal Codes, the wonderful Theme Park Method is free, however if you feel that you can simply earn more than 10-12g in the time spent there, feel free to farm gold then buy straight from TH, while it's cheap ;D

Focus of item acquired : More for personal use than for gold as prices at lvl40 cap are still undetermined
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ordinary Jewels
This is the main question that everyone wants answered:
Will Ordinary Jewel prices skyrocket with the release of Lvl40 cap?
A: Yes & No, but no probably
but why?
  • Ordinary Jewel Drop rates will increase in new Lvl32-40 Dungeons (Basically lvl32 cap is like the lvl 16 cap we had where the dungeons drop minimal rough agates when ran at abyss, so lvl 40cap dungeons are like the Lvl24 cap we had, probably a sanctuary core like dungeon will exist)
  • If prices of ordinary jewels went up, more people will go back to AWH Royal Chest, so the prices will go down again ;D
So what should you stock up on?
Just stock up around 10 stacks of Ordinary Agate PLUS the jewel you need for your own class
The first week of lvl40 release won't see a sharp rise in ordinary jewel prices (Except for some panic buyers) but towards the 2nd week most probably you will because more people will be able to run manticore nest hence the availability of epic armors/weapons which meant people will actually start using ordinary jewels.
Stock up around 10 stacks of ordinary agate because during the 1st & 2nd Week of 40 cap release, many people will be going for Lvl40 Rare weapons and thus the demand for ordinary agates will increase sharply. Stock up at least 10 stacks so that you won't be caught in the middle of a short-term price crisis!
Current Prices of Ordinary Agate : 2.3-2.5g (Greenwood server)
Expected Prices of Ordinary Agate : 3-3.5g or more (Especially during the 1st/2nd Week of 40 cap release)
Methods to stock up Ordinary Agates : Just farm gold and buy the cheapest ones now OR Run DMS or F-DOA.
Methods to stock up Jewels :    Good old Abandoned Welton Hallow Royal Chest Runs
Focus of item: Once again personal use rather than for gold gain.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Epic Intermediate Codes
Well well this is the one where you better start now or you might be too late due to the drop rates.
The epic intermediate code that will DEFINITELY RISE IN PRICE is Epic Intermediate Diamond Code
For myself I've stocked up around 23 Intermediate Diamond codes and around 10+ each crystal/agate bravery code for my own use when 40 cap is released
Stocking up on these intermediate epic codes are very very important if you're going for manticore/apoc set in 40 cap. The prices of these will definitely increase by alot especially from the 2nd week of 40 cap release (X'mas Week)
Start stocking up now so you wouldn't have to pay overpriced codes to code your epic weapons/armors.
Also for those who are thinking about getting critical rings, intermediate diamond codes can be used on lvl 40 and below accessories, so save your diamond codes for the latest version of rings that will be out in 40 cap.
What do I do with codes that I can't use for myself? Seal Stamp prices are crazy!
Well save those epic agate codes that you don't need, and then dissemble them for 30g each to be used as reverts while coding your weapons/accessories!
Also why will intermediate diamond codes prices increase?
Well for a simple reason : everyone will be changing into violet and above accessories and yes, they need intermediate diamond codes to get coded (Unlike 32 cap where some still used low grade diamond) This is 100% for sure on necklace and earrings because the stats difference in the higher level accessories are huge!. Just imagine everyone changing into the new < lvl 40 accessories, the demand for intermediate diamond codes will simply go way out of hand.
Current Prices of Intermediate Diamond Codes : 135g-140g Each
Predicted Prices as of 40 Cap : 160g and above (I'm guessing 180g)
Methods to stock up on Intermediate Epic Codes : Royal Chest Runs at AWH / Abyss Dungeons Runs (DMS/DOK/F-DOA)
Personally almost all my 23 intermediate diamond codes came from AWH runs, because I'm very busy with replying emails, making new videos/guides, I stick to grindy/boring but simple AWH RC Runs so that I can do something for myself while doing something for you people
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Comet Dusts
Okay this is a very very touchy topic simply for this reason:
We don't know for sure if Lvl40 Spiral/Vortex Pouches will be released in 40 cap.
The chances are probably high that they will be implemented/released so we still don't want to be caught off guard
For those who didn't go for epics in 32 cap because there weren't any spiral/vortex pouches here's your chance now!
Still don't know what's comet dust or spiral/vortex pouch?
Watch my video guide on them! : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vev7OkwS81w
Visit my blog regarding it for a full explanation + analysis here : http://kazudragonhaven.tumblr.com/cometdustguide
If you're going for comet dust here's the numbers of what you need for the respective pouches
Credits to dnarmory.com
Lvl 40 RARE Spiral Pouch (+7-10) - 160 Comet Dust
Lvl 40 RARE Vortex Pouch (+7-10) - 370 Comet dust
Lvl 40 EPIC Spiral Pouch (+7-10) - 975 Comet Dust
Lvl 40 EPIC Vortex Pouch (+7-10) - 2000 Comet Dust
So what am I dissembling now?
Seeing that the ordinary jewel prices have dropped even as low as 2g each (Ordinary Obsidian on greenwood is 2g each),
I'm dissembling +5 Lvl32 Epics Main Weapons which gives me 80 dust per ; Don't try +6 it gives you 1 sun dust.
The reason why I don't dissemble Lvl24 Rare/Epic +6 is because rough jewel prices are higher sometimes and also getting to +6 has a much higher chance of degrading/failure when enhancing which meant more cost.
Enhancing to +5 is usually smooth and for Lvl32 Epics, it uses only 7 Ordinary Jewels if you have zero fails. Meaning 1 Stack of ordinary jewel can net you 160 comet dust on average!
On my server, comet dusts are selling for 30-33s each, and 160 comet dust will be around 54g. 1 Stack of ordinary agate is only 40g hence you're saving yourself around 10g (cost of the 32 epic weapon is around 1g or lower if you buy the right ones, and enhancing epics cost quite abit, around 50-90s per enhance)
I don't recommend going all crazy for comet dust now.
why?
At Lvl40 cap, Lvl40 +6 Rare weapons will net you 140 Comet Dust (This value is an assumption because LVl24 Rare +6 gave 35 and Lvl32 Rare +6 gave 70 hence I deduced that Lvl40 Rare +6 will give 140 since it's a 2x Multiplier each time the level cap increases), and they still use only Ordinary Agates. So if you're into the comet dust business better stock up on some ordinary agates so that you can get easy comet dust when the cap is out!
Current prices of Comet Dust : 33-35silvers
Predicted Prices of Comet Dust : Maintained because knowledge of comet dust is still very low on the general playerbase hence not everyone will directly buy comet dust.
How much to stock up : At least 10000 Comet Dust before the cap release for personal use
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fragment of Subtle Skills

Remember how useless you felt these things were in 32 cap because the prices of violet accessories are crazy?
Better start stocking them now because the prices of violet rings will DEFINITELY drop in 40 cap release since manticore/apoc nest will now drop these often now.
Lvl40 caps is going to stay for a long long time, and thus giving us alot of time for specialization and customization
Those +1 to the skills you can get will make alot of difference! Especially if you PvP!
Just stock up enough for 2 or more rings, or simply run chaos opening yourself when you're free (I've only ran it once EVER since 32 cap because violet ring prices are just -.-)
Prices of these things now are 2g each I just wiped the Trading House ;x
Predicted Prices ? Well I don't think it will go up very high but the lazy rich players will definitely buy it off trading house, so if you want to earn some cash, stock up then re-sell them when the prices go up, won't be too much though.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Did I miss out anything?

Feel free to let the rest know what you feel should be stocked up in preparation of 40 CAP Release.

TL;DR?

Stock up on intermediate epic codes (Especially diamond) ; Make sure there are enough jewels/items for your own personal use at least when the cap is released.

If you feel that this guide has helped you, please help me out as well ;D

Farming Dried Marissa Spring (F-DMS)

Farming Dried Marissa Spring (F-DMS)
by AikawaKazu [ source ]

Many have asked me to do the video guide for Dried Marissa Spring...
Before watching the video just know that:
  • There's a large part of the dungeon that you can skip in the first map
  • You can finish running it in 4-5mins (My fastest so far is 4min25s)
  • Royal Chest Location is Obvious and Easy to Spot
  • Dungeon Drops Eye Ornaments (Worth 20-25g)
  • 3 Runs[lvl32equipment] before repairing (F-DOA only can run twice)
For me, this is the new DTMI as it requires a much shorter time to complete compared to F-DOA, as well as being able to run the dungeon 3 times before returning for repairs.
With that, take sometime to watch the video below to see the location of the royal chest as well as where you can skip and where you can't.

Shortcut at 2nd Map - Can kill the mobs below before heading across the bridge

Step 3: Walk along the left side of the map till u hit a cave
Step 4: Check the cave weather there is a royal chest
Step 5: If the chest is not there exit and enter again, if the chest is there loot and profit or alternatively, you may want to suicide with the ghouls and just exit at the entrance

1. Introduction
Hello, I've hit a reasonable amount of money on Dragon's Nest and I'm hoping to help others who are questioning "how to make more money on Dragon's Nest" or "what is the easiest way to make money on Dragon's Nest". I've hit over 1k gold within a week and a half on Dragon's nest. I find that a great milestone. Although others do surpass my wealth on the server, my knowledge and experience is still high enough to help others out.

2. Jewel Hunting
We all know what Crafting Jewels are, don't we? You should by now. All dungeons that are level 16+ drop Rough Agates and not those crumby Agate Fragments. You can easily farm these Rough Agates in dungeons such as Dark Tower Magic Institute or Sanctuary Core, where a lot of mobs spawn. The two dungeons listed above are where I feel are the strongest places to farm Rough Agates.

Rough Agate farming I find is the most consistent way to make money. You are almost guaranteed to make money, although it may not be at the fastest rate. You could average about 19G-20G an hour atleast. On average, I find that Rough Agates drop at a minimum of 2-3 per a dungeon run. Remember this is a minimum. At level 24, a masters run on Dark Tower Magic Institute should take you no less then 3 minutes with decent gear. Theoretically, if it takes you 3 minutes a dungeon, and you average 2-3 Rough Agatea at bare minimum then, you will average about 40-60 Rough Agates an hour. Depending on how much they sell for on your server determines on your Gold/Hour. On Springwood, as of August 20, a stack of Rough Agates can be sold in the market for 20g a stack.

Remember, This is the most consistent way to make money, but it may seem rather boring and repetitive. If you are trying to make money fast, perhaps consider the other options bellow.

3. Rare Item Hunting
Along with Rough Agate farming, you can mix it along with Rare Item Hunting. Rare items such as level 24 set gear, rings and plates. This may not be as consistent as Rough Agate farming because after 5+ runs, you might not even run into an item that's worth something. Although I do not know which dungeon statistically will make the most money, you can grind on Abyss lower leveled dungeons, to find rare items such as a level 24 rare weapon or armor. You can also grind on Masters (Sanctuary Core, Prayer's Resting Place, etc.) because these dungeons do still drop 23+ gear on masters. Also you can consider getting rare sparks from pretty much every dungeon which sell quite nicely.

You could make a lot of money off this method by getting lucky and stumbling upon rare items. I've had some instances where I've found a nice level 20+ rare ring, with 25 MDMG on it that sold for over 20g.

Also you could hunt for boss drops such as a Poison Pills, Photos, Chain, etc. Almost every boss has a rare drop that is used for crafting which you can sell in the market for a good price.

4. Merchanting
Merchanting occurs in almost every MMO. If you are not familiar with merchanting, here's a quick definition. Buy for less, sell for more. It's self explanatory. You simply hunt in the market/all chat to see if anyone is selling something discounted. There will always be that impatient seller who is willing to sell for less. Take advantage of that and buy from that seller, then sell that item at its original price. This method requires patience, if you do not have the patience to sell, then I recommend you try out the other methods.

Here let me give you an example:
There is a stack of Rough Agates in the market being sold for 18G. You know that a stack of Rough Agates can be sold for atleast 20G in the market. Quickly purchase that stack for 18G and resell it for 20G+ and you will make a 2G profit.

This method doesn't always have to be about Rough Agates, you can merchant things such as items, codes, plates, etc. Anything that seems oddly under priced, go ahead and buy it then sell it for its original or more price.

5. Crafting and Selling
You can sell an item that has been well crafted and enhanced for great amount of gold. What this method involves you to do is pretty much enhance an item, such as a Goblin Long bow to +8 or higher (recommend for best results). Once you've enhanced it, you can use a rare crystal codes to unlock the item's ability. If you get a good ability, that's great! That just means you will make more money! If not, you can risk using reset sparks and trying to see if you can get better stats. Once you've enhanced and unlocked your item's ability, you can craft it into a different type of weapon (Preferably Windswept). Windswept/Intelligence is best for crafting in my opinion because for Mages and Clerics, you cannot go wrong on intelligence and Windswept is great on Warriors and Archers due to the reduction on crit resist.

Although this might seem like an easy method, you could potentially end up not being able to sell your item at your desired price and may lose more money. Think about it this way. What happens when you break your weapon? What happens to all your Rough Agates after failing to enhance 5 times in a row? What if the item I don't have enough money to buy crafting items to get it to Windswept or Intelligence? All these factors may contribute to losing money after crafting items. Although this may seem like the "faster" way to make money, always remember that everything has their pros and cons.

6. Gold Bunny Hunting
On Abyss difficulty, maybe you guys have ran into it before. The Gold Bunny. There is a very low probability that you will run into the Golden Bunny, but when you do, you could have a huge gain in gold. If people are unsure of what the Golden Bunny drops, there is a chance that the Gold Bunny will drop a "Highest Grade Plate" which can be sold up to 500G and up. Basically how to Gold Bunny hunt is you can go solo, or with a party. I personally like going with parties when I can, but some others like solo so if any other items drop, it's all theirs. Basically you have to grind on Abyss difficulty dungeons and hope for a Golden Bunny.

Note: Make you you always have a key because if you don't then you are rather screwed when you see the Golden Bunny :\

Also note that this is more or less a gamble in my opinion. You might not even run into 1 Golden Bunny in 25 runs. That's how rare it is. Please consider this huge downfall when it comes to Golden Bunny hunting, as you might just be wasting your time if you are too impatient to grind for one.

Another tip is that it is preferred to run as a party, preferably as 4. Why you may ask? simply to maximize the number of bunnies you and your friends can get and also it makes Abyss runs much faster. think about it, you have 4 people, if you are lucky enough to stumble upon a bunny, its 4 people that get a gold bunny. Also with 4 people running through dungeons should be a breeze.

7. Monopolization
I've not used this method, but theoretically it can work. Note, this method has the higher risk. You can either have a huge gain in money or a huge loss in it too. Not sure what I'm talking about when I say Monopolization? Here's a quick definition: the exclusive possession or control of the supply or trade in a commodity or service. Basically monopolizing or possessing one item in the market.

For example, you could monopolize anything in the market and sell it at the price that you want. Theoretically if you were to buy every Low Grade Crystal Spark (Rare) and sell them all for 30g instead of 20g. The only Crystal Sparks available are your crystal spark. When anyone sells a Crystal spark bellow your price you can buy it before anyone else can, then sell it for your own price.

I'm going to use a real life analogy to clear things up. Say someone bought out all the food markets in the states, and decided to sell everything for twice its value. No one could stop it since that "someone" owns all of it.

Theoretically you could monopolize a certain item in the market, make your own prices and sell for that price resulting in a huge gain of profit. There is a huge downfall though. What if your process of monopolization fails? What happens when I don't have enough gold to buy out the item? What happens if other players farm for the item you monopolized and sell it for cheaper? This is probably the best way to make money, yet it's probably the best way to lose it aswell.

8. Seal Stamps
Seal Stamps. You should've gotten them by level 24 as a gift box from the Cash Shop. You can also purchase them with your DNP/CC as well. How could you use Seal Stamps to make money? Simply by sealing items that are rare that are also are in high demand. I, myself use seal stamps to sell Revert Codes since they are unable to be traded and others are willing to buy them as well. There are other items such as rare plates that you can unbind and sell.

This method is mainly based on using "real life money" or the Cherry Credits that you got through events. By using these seal stamps you can make some extra gold.

9. Nesting
So recently with the newest update, the Minotaur Nest finally came out. This is also a great source of income due to the epic items you can get upon completing the nest. It is recommended to go as 4 as nesting is quite hard to solo. You can have a great source of income, or even get some nice items for yourself. I myself made a great ordeal of money just off a couple of nests. It requires a little luck, but more or less skill to complete the nest. Upon completing the dungeon, you may get a golden chest, where items can be sold for a lot of money. Some examples are a Minotaur horns, epic accessories, epic plates, and just epic things in general!
I find that this is another great method to make money just because of all the epic gear that you can acquire and sell.

10. Tips and Tricks
Here are some tips and tricks that you can follow to help save or make some more money.
  1. You can create other character and send them items to be sold in the market once your listings have been all used up. Most people complain about how they can only sell 30 items a week. You can easily solve that problem by making several other character on your account making your 30 listings to 120 listings a week.
  2. Grind with a buddy. Although you guys might have to split the loot, theoretically you will be saving more money. You will be able to run through dungeons faster and you will waste less durability in dungeons.
  3. Farm things that are suspected to inflate. You can farm items in dungeons that are suspected to inflate in the future. ie. Crafting items once the Epic sets come out.
  4. Always keep an eye on the market. Things will inflate and deflate. The market can be very instable and prices can go up and down due to demands in the community. For example, when people were able to relist things in the market, the price of Rare Onyx Sparks went from 5g to about 3.5g. Keep an eye out for the market.
  5. Try to sell before Saturdays. The point above should explain why. Since everyone's listings get reset, after a week of grinding, a lot, and I mean a lot of people will be eager to sell, ultimately deflating the price of an item.
  6. You can also use the market as a price reference. Just search up the item to see what the average price that item is being sold for.
