PvP Ghoul Mode

PvP Ghoul Mode

Introduction
In Ghoul Mode, you can play as ghouls or humans in this special player vs. player match. And unlike the other PvP matches, you don't need to worry about level, equipment, or classes balance because in Dragon Nest's ghoul mode, you only need player skill and teamwork.

If a human killed by ghouls, he'll turn to ghoul and join the ghoul side. Humans can choose from two types of special weapons: Linear weapon or Parabolic weapon. Linear weapon shoots the target in a straight line manner, while parabolic weapon throws a projectile in a parabolic fashion. It seems that players will drop items when they are killed and you can see explosive on the ground in the video.

How to enter PVP Ghoul Mode?
1. At first, you need to have your own character.
2. Go to PVP channel by clicking on the channel change.
3. Go in to the PVP room.
4. Create a PVP room with Ghould Mode now.

5. There is only one map for Ghoul Mode PVP, once all people are ready, then click GO. You can edit round, and number of players.

Elementalist's Guide to PvP

Part I - Group vs. 1v1
Elemental Lords excel at mob control, thought not to the point of mystics. Thus, it's common sense that we would do better in group PvP's than 1v1's. In group PvP, you can fire off some of your slower, more powerful attacks, which would be impossible under 1v1 circumstances. Additionally, you hit more people, giving you a greater chance of killing someone and getting points.

The key to group PvP is staying out of the center of commotion. If there's a large group of fighters going at it, you need to stay far away, but close enough so they're just in range. If someone attacks you while you're using a skill, BLINK AWAY without hesitation. You do NOT want an Acrobat or Warrior catching you in a combo, especially if you're against a wall. If more than two people run at you, drop everything and run towards your teammates. The fastest way to die is to be outnumbered.

Solo PvP is much less hectic. If you're facing a Paladin or Warrior, make sure they never get too close, or you will be punished. Mercenaries are especially dangerous, thanks to their high stun and numerous combos. If you're facing a Sorceress or Sharpshooter, try to stay to the side or behind them. You could also try blinking forward and using icy gust, then following with moves like Inferno or Icy Shards.

Part II - Fire skills
Unfortunately, very few fire skills are useful in PvP. Almost all are situational. Some key attacks:

Fireball - A very situational move. If nobody is attacking you, charge up this attack and fire away. It does excellent damage and might floor them, giving you a chance to chain more attacks. In 1v1, refrain from using this move unless all your other skills are on cooldown and your opponent is floored.

Inferno - Probably the most useful fire attack in PvP. It's good to finish up chains of attacks, because it stun-locks anyone caught in it. Use it wisely because it has a slow startup.

Fire Wall - Extremely long cooldown, so you probably won't use it much in 1v1. When someone is near you and is extremely vulnerable (i.e. charging up a slow skill like Ice Cold Field), use it to launch them into the air. Follow up with some ice attacks for heavy damage. Alternatively, you can try using it when they're down to launch them again.

Part III - Ice skills
Ice attacks dominate in PvP Between Frozen Spikes, Icy Shards, and Icy Gust, your opponent will have a very hard time getting to their feet. Start off with Frozen Spikes, then use Icy Shards to launch them in the air, and finish with Fireball or Inferno.

Glacial Spike - Although the damage is low, it has a tiny cooldown, decent range, and a chance to freeze. Good if you need a last ditch attack to slow your opponent for a bit, especially if it's a Swordsman walking all over you.

Icy Shards - Your best PvP asset. If your opponent has the slightest opening, do not hesitate to use it. It will send them sky-high and make them an easy target for your next skill. The EX version is even better, with extended range.

Frozen Spikes - Another good PvP skill. It has good DoT and a fast cast time, making it the best skill to use before Icy Shards.

Icy Gust - Outclasses Flame Spark in my opinion. When you blink offensively (as in, not running for your life), use this for a bit of extra damage and stun (if they're not using a skill). With luck, they'll be eating an Inferno right after.

Glacial Freeze - Vastly superior to Ice Cold Field and Fire Wall if and only if it freezes. You can't really use it to push someone away, as they are probably already comboing you, so this skill is situational. Good against melee classes.

Part IV - Random Tips
Toxic Spray is a good bouncer, use if you need to.

A lot of elementalist skills have high cooldown, which makes it hard to 1v1 in small arenas like Arena of Death. What I do is wait at the beginning of each round/respawn until Icy shards is about halfway charged, before running into the fray.

When items like Drumsticks drop, you may want to pick them up just to stop a low health opponent from healing. :D

Be wary of your skill cooldowns, especially aerial evasion and power blink. Against warriors, you ALWAYS want to be on the defensive if aerial evasion is on cooldown. Time your Air Strikes wisely, because if you use it too soon it misses. You'll also be missing a free knockdown.

Start off your 1v1 matches with a Charged Missile - if it hits, it has a brief stun period.

Some combos:
Combo I (Bread and Butter): Toxic Spray/Icy Shards -> Toxic Spray/Icy Shards (-> Fire Wall) -> Inferno
Combo II (Offensive Blink): Blink -> Icy Gust -> Combo I
Combo III (DoT): Glacial Freeze -> Frozen Spikes -> Combo I
Combo IV (Launching): Glacial Freeze -> Icy Shards -> Fire Wall -> Inferno/Fireball
Combo V (Kiting): Ice Cold Field -> Fireball/Inferno startup -> Cancel into Blink -> Icy Gust -> Combo I

Part V - Matchups
vs. Mercenaries - Boy oh boy. One of the harder classes to beat... they have so many combos that stunlock you, it's crazy. My advice is to just weave through their attacks, and choose keeping your distance over potential damage.
vs. Paladins - Not too hard. When they use grand cross, just get out of the area and attack while they're stuck in the animation. They have a couple combos, but they're weaker and shorter than warrior ones. The lightning attacks can cause a few problems for your slower skills, so make sure to stay away from those. Abuse blink as much as possible. EDIT: Some people told me they have an "infinite" combo, but I haven't seen/been caught by one yet. Maybe it's because I haven't played pro Paladins :P
vs. Acrobats - QQ too pwned/lazy to write right now.

What Works in "Normal" PvP?

If you are a serious gamer who dwells in PvP rooms, you might want to read the extensive guide on what works in PvP in Dragon Nest, which can be found here.

For the TL;DR version, read below.

  1. Weapon and other Equipment don't matter
You can go in naked if you want, except for your weapon, and have the same ATK/DEF as a fully-equiped character. It doesnt matter if it's +8 or +9001; same damage, same defense. Same goes to potentials/codes

  2. All suffixes/prefixes work in PvP
  3. Suffixes are those of Intellect, Bear, Harsh and so on. Prefixes are yet to be implemented so don't worry about that.

  4. Only skill plates work  and not enhancement plates
Enhancement Plates are those which give you additional stats that of critical points, HP, SP, etc. Do note that Final Damage does work in PvP but if you're going for that, go PvE-ing instead.

  5. Bonuses given by the epic equipments bought by medals do not work in PvP

  6. Cash Shop items do not affect PvP
  7. An exception are wings which give Speed Bonus

  8. There is a fix value of HP, MP, ATK and DEF for each respective classes
  9. You can't change it except for some skills that do boost those stats

PvP Ladder Mode

The PvP Ladder

Any adventurer worth his or her salt knows that fighting monsters is one thing, but the true competition is going head-to-head with an opponent that's just as tough, smart and ruthless as they are! For these hardy souls, the addition of a PvP ladder comes as welcome news. Come face off with other players in exciting 1v1 ladder matches for awesome prizes and bragging rights!

Entering the Competition

To enter the PvP ladder, simply report to the Arena and look for the new Ladder ranking board and Rafael, the new Ladder Supply Soldier.

To enter a match, go to the Arena Lobby, open [1 vs 1 Ladder] tab, then click Start! The new PvP Ladder system will auto-match players with similar levels and abilities to create more balanced 1v1 PvP matches.

Ladder matches last five minutes.

Points and Prizes

Participating in Ladder battles will reward you with Ratings and Ladder points. To check on these, simply click on the new Ladder Ranking Board.

Rating and Ladder Points are based on a player’s wins and losses.
• [Pts. Earned] is the actual number of “Ladder Points” that a player will earn
during the ladder reset each week.
• [Pts. Earned] will be converted to Ladder Points each Saturday at 9 AM (GMT +8).

A few provisos for ladder matches:

• Leaving in the middle of a ladder match will result in a lost match.
• “Medal” rewards are not given in a ladder match.
• “Arena EXP” is not given in a ladder match.
• Ladder matches do not consume Empowerment points

Ladder Points can be exchanged with Rafael for various prizes at the western end of the Arena.

Almighty's Tempest PvP Guide

Almighty's Tempest PVP Guide
by Almighty [ source ]

By popular demand, I am posting my Tempest PVP build. For the the ones that don't want to read anything, here it is.

Some of my bolder choices are explained below:

Why Tempest and not Windwalker?
Yeah, windwalker can fly, and it's the fanciest char in DN. But I prefer to be effective than pretty; I like to win matches, not be stylish for 10 seconds and still get defeated. Tempest's evasion saves your life when you screw up and make a mistake; it still works even when silenced by merc. And it also makes classes like swordmaster think twice before using skills like hacking stance. Tempest is THE pvp class, windwalker is more for pve, so the ones that haven't advanced, choose wisely.

Maxing Twin Shot is a must!
If you don't want to max it, then it's fine, but at least get it to level 9 or something like that. Twin shot is your main pvp harass skill, and it needs the range and the extra damage in order to be effective. I tried taking twin shot from lv 14 (from the lv 40 build) to lv 1 (with the free reset scroll), and I cried when it did only 1/3 of the dmg and i had to be in melee range to use it.

Why is multishot such a low level?
At level 8 it skill stops people on their tracks and the only difference is damage.

Why do you have the MP passive now?
As you level up, your skills use more MP (or so it feels). Without that MP passive you run out of MP in the arena quite often; at lv 40 I would never run out of it, but now I did. The passive helps with that problem quite a lot, so GET IT.

Why so little points spent in the acrobat tree?
Twin shot. As long as you have all the skills you shouldn't have any problem linking your combos. Of course, you should tweak the build to suit your needs, after all this is just a guideline.

As usual, max all the evasion skills
An acrobat/tempest with all the evasion skills on CD is dead, so make those CD as low as possible.

I STRONGLY recommend getting a vortex +50% animation speed heraldry
After you get that heraldry you can knock off elemental lord's out of their brooms, mercs out of their charging high super armor skill, and a lot of other things. It's without a doubt the best skill heraldry that a PVP acrobat/tempest can get, (after nebula chains cooldown heraldry of course).

Megido's Hybrid Saint Build for PVE/PVP (Protection and Guildwar)

I didn't bother maxing Charge Volt since at lvl15 it does enough damage especially when it crits, also considering am Hybrid, I didn't max Relic of Heal since it gives out sufficient amount of heals and Holy Bust at lvl2 because that extra pinch in an aoe move really helps, as for Counter Blow I normally just roll back or to the sides to avoid attacks

Gear and Stats

I am still working on getting Full Bishop Set to start on Final Damage Build and as for my crit % I think it still does what it does in PVE

Herarldy Stats

I bought these plates when they were cheap and fairly easy to find so I probably won't be replacing these anytime soon unless I get lucky

I would say my main damage is Charge Volt and Relic of Light
and CD for Both Relic of Heal and Heal are very sufficient

Note: This build works for me so don't assume that it'll work for you too and this is not my final build considering we will be getting 10 more sp points
